Sharlene R. Hesse, 72, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. She was born on January 31, 1954 at the Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, a daughter of John T. and Donna J. (Woodruff) Johnson and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Jason Hesse, Matthew Hesse, and Joshua Hesse; one brother, John Johnson; two sisters, Sharon Underwood and DeAnn Johnson; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Hesse, Alex Hesse, Addison Hesse, and Zachary Hesse.

Sharlene enjoyed teaching and going for walks. She loved to read and loved her family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Yvonne Marie Priest, 88, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Arcadia Care in Watseka. She was born on July 21, 1938 in St. Anne, a daughter of Ben Frank and Elouise (Clawson) Gray. They preceded her in death along with one brother, Paul Edward Gray.

Yvonne married Ronald D. Priest on September 13, 1958 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2020.

Yvonne is survived by one son, Steven Priest of Elk Grove Village; two daughters, Lori Priest of LaGrange and Jeni (Timothy) Madison of Watseka; two grandchildren, Megan Madison of Salem, Massachusetts and Trisha Madison of Watseka; one great-grandchild, Andria; one brother, David (Kim) Gray of Crossville, Tennessee; and two sisters, June Hepp of Watseka and Beth (Mark) Hoover of Watseka.

Yvonne was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and knitting.

A private graveside service will be held at the Prairie Dell Cemetery near Iroquois.

Beverly Jean Foster, 87, of Watseka passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Arcadia Care of Watseka. She was born on November 26, 1938 in Milford, a daughter of Clyde and Thelma (Martin) Riley. She married Charles Hall in June of 1957 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1979. She later married Jerry J. Foster on December 19, 1980 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; three sisters; one son, Edward Hall; and one daughter, Karen Wetzel.

She is survived by one son, Carey Hall of Kankakee; one daughter-in-law, Marlene Hall of Watseka; one son-in-law, Gil Wetzel of Watseka; one step-son, Jay Foster of Watseka; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Beverly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka and was also a member of the church choir. She worked for the Watseka Police Department for 25 years and was an Alderman in Watseka for 8 years. Beverly performed in the Cantata for 19 years and enjoyed people.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 also at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Ashley Clifton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Adrian Muñoz Moreno, 53, of Onarga passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 in Gilman. He was born on July 6, 1973 in Casacuarán, GTO, Mexico, a son of Alfredo Muñoz Diaz and Yolanda Moreno Gonzalez.

Adrian married Laura Dickenson and she survives in Onarga.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Immaculate Conception/ Our Lady of Guadalupe in Gilman with a 1:00 p.m. graveside service at the Onarga Cemetery.

Donna Kellems Blair, 78, of Watseka passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at her home in Watseka. She was born on October 4, 1947 in Watseka, the daughter of Ed and Marian (Lober) Peters. She married John Kellems in Watseka on July 19, 1967 and he preceded her in passing on March 6, 2005. She later married Marvin Blair in Watseka on February 27, 2008.

Surviving her are her husband, Marvin Blair of Watseka; one son, David (Theresa) Kellems of Watseka; one daughter, Tracy (Andy) Stewart of Allenhurst, GA; one step son, Allen Blair of Watseka; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; one brother, Scott Peters of Endwell, NY; and one sister Renee Epplin of Litchfield, IL.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her first husband, John; one brother, Ronald Peters; and one step son, Earl Blair.

Donna had a love for gardening and flowers. She was a big supporter of ICARE in Iroquois and had a love for cats. She was an avid reader as well.

Cremation rites are being handled by Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

A Celebration of Life service take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Trinity Church in Watseka.

Gene Olson, 86, of Onarga passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Gilman Healthcare. He was born on August 5, 1940 in Buckley, the son of Vernon and Pearl (Giroux) Olson. Gene married Sandy French in Gilman on August 21, 1959. Gene and Sandy, his wife and best friend, can once again be together as she preceded him in death on March 30, 2019. Gene was also preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Betty Heideman and Fern Eheart, and one son-in-law, Roger Morgan.

Survivors include three daughters, Becky Morgan, Lori (Herb) Henrichs, and Pam (Carlos) Valdez, all of Onarga; two grandchildren, Kayla (Jesus) Garcia of Brownsburg, IN, and Eric (Jayme) Zuniga of Round Lake Beach; four great-grandchildren, Milan and Joelle Garcia and Callum and Lyanna Zuniga; and one brother, Russell Olson of Gilman.

Gene was a pipefitter by trade, starting at 24 years of age and retiring in 2002. He also raced stock cars, strictly for the fun of it, from 1972-1975. Gene was an athlete in high school and very much enjoyed watching his daughters play in all their sports. He was able to “relive” his glory days while coaching and watching his grandson play football.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.

A private graveside service and burial will be in the Onarga Cemetery with Sissie Poppie officiating.

Wayne Barnet Breymeyer, 85, of Bourbonnais passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Citadel in Kankakee. He was born on September 5, 1940 in Frankfort, a son of Fred and Rose (Heuer) Breymeyer. They preceded him in death along with one brother, Jerry Breymeyer; and two sisters, Fern Thompson and Betty Gallagher.

Wayne married Barbara Ortiz on September 28 in Joliet and she survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Tina (the late, Al) Henry of Joliet, Tammy King of Georgia, Dawn (Dave) Edwards of Clifton, Tracy (Jose) Finnegan of Oak Lawn; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Paul of Texas and Patricia Doran of Buckley; and one brother, Tom (Cheryl) Breymeyer of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was an avid arrow head collector, loved to be outdoors, and riding motorcycles.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.

Aldine Emma Muench, 88, of Cissna Park passed into eternal life on August 4, 2026, after complications from surgery. She was born on March 15, 1938, in Menfro, Missouri, to Ernst and Emma (Hadler) Bachmann of Farrar, Missouri. She married LeRoy E. (Lee) Muench on October 11, 1958, in Farrar, Missouri, and they were together for 67 years. They grew up near each other and began dating in high school after Lee sat behind Aldine in band and “liked the view.”

They were the parents of six children who argued which one of them was her favorite: Brian of Lenexa, Kansas, Brenda (Dana) Christopher-Muench of Windermere, Florida, Belinda (Duane) Bjorklund of Summit, Illinois, Bethanie (Robert) Marshall of Cissna Park, Becky (Michael) Drennan of Neoga, Illinois, and Beverly (Mark) Carter of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She is survived by her husband Lee, one brother Raymond Bachmann, her six children and spouses, 16 grandchildren (Jordan, Jonathon, Jonah, Jaden, Julia, Jennifer, Jillian, Michelle, Brandi, Blake, Stephen, Dallas, Jessica, Marcus, Ethan, and Andrew); 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, 9 in-laws, including, Barb Muench of Emporia, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, Orville, Norman, and Vernold Bachmann; two sisters, Loretta Givens and Euline Koenig; eleven in-laws, and two grandsons, Dustin Marshall and Jaron Muench.

In the early years of their marriage, Aldine worked at Concordia Teacher’s College while Lee was in school. Rosalyn Wilkening of Cissna Park and Aldine became friends while at Concordia; Rosalyn told them about a business opportunity in Idaville. In 1962, they moved to Idaville, taking over a gas station and restaurant business. Lee and Aldine’s Cafe ran from 1962-1977. The restaurant was known for Friday-night fish dinners, Sunday lunches featuring fried chicken, homemade pies, and fresh donuts.

Her love language was cooking and sewing for others. She made quilts for all her children and grandchildren, and donated hundreds more to World Relief. She was a hard worker, running the restaurant while raising six kids. She loved gardening, growing and canning vegetables (lots of pickles!), sewing, quilting, helping in her church, and in her later years, teaching others how to make pies. She had a good sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand. Above all, she was a strong Christian, living a life of service and joy in the Lord.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park and one hour before the funeral service. The funeral service will be Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Woodworth, with Pastor Michael Ruhlig officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Emma Jane Light, 93, of Sheldon passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. She was born on January 1, 1933 in Watseka, the daughter of George and Ula Belle (Hootman) Goosey. After Ula Belle’s passing, Bertha Monohon helped raise Emma Jane and her sister. Emma Jane married Harold E. Light in Sheldon on June 24, 1955 and he preceded her in passing on June 15, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Rick (Shelia) Light of Martinton and Roger (Lori) Light of Sheldon; one daughter, Cindy Schneider of Sharpsburg, GA; one sister, Pat (John) Fredrickson of Kentland; six grandchildren, Alyssa (Shawn) Spalding, Richard Light, Heather Cason, Bridgette (Dave) Thompson, Matt (Abby) Light and Ben (Katy) Light; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Emma Jane was preceded in passing by both of her parents; her husband, Harold; one son, Rod Light and daughter in law, Diana Light; and one son in law, Bob Schneider.

Mrs. Light played the piano and organ for over fifty years at the Darrow Church of Christ where she was a member. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Emma Jane was an avid BINGO player, loved her time at the Iroquois Café with the ladies having coffee, and was recognized as the Grand Marshall of the Sheldon Fun Day’s Parade in 2023.

A special thank you on behalf of the family to Autumn Trace Kentland Assisted Living for taking such good care of her there, a heartfelt thank you to Pat Platteter for being such a good caregiver to her at home, and a special thank you to Iroquois Memorial Hospice and the Iroquois Resident Home for their great care in her final days.

Jane R. Hasselbring, of Onarga, IL passed away on August 4, 2026, at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL.

She was born February 24, 1943, in Paxton, IL, to Robert and Mardelle (Danforth) Kirsche. While she was still very young, they moved to Belvedere, IL, where she attended school, graduating in 1961. Both of her parents preceded her in death.

She married Leland Hasselbring on August 18, 1963 in Gilman. He survives her along with three children, Gwen (William) Thomas, Dena (Susan Bonner) Hasselbring, and Martin (Claudia Goretti) Hasselbring. Two grandchildren Andrew (Allison) Thomas and Aaron (Sarah) Thomas, four great grandchildren, Abram, Levi, Aria and Rhiannon, one brother, Max Kirsche and one sister, Kris Laurant.

Music, dancing, and reading were some of the things Jane enjoyed most; she touched many lives with her warmth and kindness. Jane loved her family more than anything and was able to stay at home with the children until they were well into school, at which time she went back to school, graduating from the University of Illinois at the age of 39. She then taught for 15 years. She enjoyed teaching and continued to sub after she retired. She also worked part-time at the local library. She and Leland were able to travel quite a lot, visiting all 48 of the lower states and half a dozen foreign countries. They also enjoyed the ten winters they spent in Harlingen, TX, where Jane took up watercolor painting.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Shagbark Country Club, Onarga, IL on Saturday, August 8th from 2-5 PM. A private inurnment will be held at the Onarga Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Prairieview for the amazing care and kindness they showed Jane. The Lewy Body Dementia may have robbed her of some of her memories, but it did not take the love and kindness she always carried in her heart.

Janet K. Frye, 74, of Watseka passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. She was born on August 13, 1951 in Watseka, a daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Gerard) Schroeder.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Tina Cade of Watseka and Sherry Bruner of Watseka; one brother, Dale (Shirley) Schroeder of Surprise, Arizona; five sisters, Margaret (Gene) Coley of Watseka, Mary Perry of Trimble, Tennessee, Helen (Curt) Sorensen of Culpper, Virginia, Marilyn Smith of Watseka, and Sandra (Erwin) Strough of Gilman; five grandchildren, Austin, Zach, Taylor, Dakota, and Kristin.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; one brother, Edward “Ollie” Schroeder; one sister, Dorathy Brown; one granddaughter, Paige Bruner, and one nephew, Johny Hoover.

Janet enjoyed spending time with family.

Warren Robert Olson, 77, of Clifton passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at his residence. He was born on February 3, 1949 in Chicago, a son of Elmer Herbert Wolford and Sylvia (Highland) Olson. His parents preceded him in death along with one brother, Russell Olson; and one son, Brian Olson.

Warren married Sandra Bailey on February 2, 1989 in Kankakee and she survives.

Also surviving are his step-children, Misty (William) Maves of Manhattan, Meggan Guthrie (George True) of Clifton, Keith (Jennifer) Brault of Romeoville, and Nicole Brault of Clifton; grandsons, Jeffrey Bissallion, Travis Kibbons, and Ashley Kibbons; step-grandchildren, Jarred (Sabrina) Maves, Adam Maves, Christopher Guthrie, Dylan Guthrie, Hannah True, Jaden Nester, Reagan Brault, and Jaxson Brault; step-great-grandchildren, Hollynn Maves and Juliette Maves; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward Olson of Indiana.

Warren enjoyed fishing, camping, and boating. He was a mechanic at Belson Scrap and Steel. Warren held various mechanics jobs over the year as well as working for Warfield Electric. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Warren would often say, “He could fix anything, but traffic tickets and broken hearts.”

Bob Christy, 69, of Watseka passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born on December 26, 1956, a son of Bill E. and Carol M. (Harrison) Christy. Bob married Mary Lou Florek in Watseka on October 26, 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Christy of Watseka; his parents, Bill and Carol Christy of Watseka; one son, James (Rachel) Christy of Grays Lake; one daughter, Jessica (Andy) Dillman of Grant Park; one brother, David (Jill) Christy of Danforth; one sister, Karen (Brien) Harper of Watseka; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob enjoyed spending time in the outdoors including hiking, kayaking, camping, and fishing. He truly loved the time spent vacationing in Wisconsin and spending time with family and friends.

Douglas J. Mikesell, 80, of Cissna Park passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1945 in Chicago, a son of Elmer and Brydene (Halley) Mikesell and they preceded him in death.

Doug married Pamela Patrick on April 12, 2018 in Elko, Nevada and she survives.

He is also survived by one son, Robert (Rebecca) Mikesell of St. Louis, Missouri.

Douglas was a member of Cornerstone Church in Woodland. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Private services will be held at a later date.

David “Papa” Tincher, 64, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at his residence. He was born on April 10, 1962 in Watseka, a son of Robert E. and Mary H. (Baker) Tincher.

David married Sharon Daniels on May 9, 1981 in Sheldon and she survives.

Also surviving are sons, Nicholas (Teri) Tincher and William (Vicki) Walver; five grandchildren, Dirk Tincher, Adam (Hannah) Walver, Gabe Walver, Sam Walver, and Finn Walver; three brothers, Daniel (Rita) Tincher, Marvin (Lori) Tincher, and Robert (Colleen) Tincher; nieces and nephews, Samantha (Devon) Brassard, Rob (Lulu) Daniels, Jayne (Brandon) Fields, Alycia Worley, Robert Shawn Daniels, Amber Tincher, Ashley Tincher, and Michelle (Tyler) Atwood; and many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and one granddaughter, Bryn Tincher.

David worked for Iroquois Paving Corporation for 17 years. He was a member of the Local #11 Union out of Joliet. David loved gambling and playing Texas Hold’em. He was very loyal to his friends and family always putting others first over himself. David was a leader not only in heavy highway construction but also a leader at Iroquois Paving Corporation. David loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was the “Best Papa” and will be missed.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.
