Laura was a faithful member of the Cissna Park Union Church where she enjoyed working and fulfilling many roles, but the one closest to her heart was serving as church organist for over 49 years.
She will also be remembered for her artistic and creative ability and won several awards and honors, including the Illinois Governor’s Trophy, for her decorated eggshells. She and her husband owned and operated Hoffmann House, a Hallmark card and gift shop for many years in Cissna Park.
Laura was an avid reader, enjoyed playing card games, loved doing jigsaw puzzles, studied the bible, and was a fan of old television shows like M*A*S*H and The Andy Griffith Show. She was also passionate about making and sending her handcrafted cards.
